CHALLENGE: The customer had been working on modifications for quite some time but needed thorough documentation in the form of weldment prints and bills of materials, in order to appropriately define the design.
APPROACH: Modifications were made to ISO shipping containers in order to contain related equipment. WMD Squared also created 3D models of both the improved equipment containment pod and a large climate-controlled unit serving as living quarters. Deeper analysis was applied to the lift points of all components in the systems to ensure safety. The existing dive bell was redesigned, and the appropriate changes were made. In the end we were able to deliver a refined set of drawings with the accepted changes.
IMPACT: We were able to reduce the time required to move components through the production processes as well as eliminating the need for tribal knowledge during and throughout the production processes, to allow for increased consistency of work. This afforded the customer with the ability to monitor change history and created a careful document for any updates.
