It all started in 2003. Founder Willem Mast was approached by his employer’s previous client in need of drawings for his new prototype. With his employer’s blessing and one customer, Willem began the initial drafting that laid the groundwork for WMD Squared Engineering.
Three years later, that customer went on to sell his design to Halliburton. Impressed by his high level of quality, the company continued to use Willem’s engineering services and industrial expertise. This eventually gave rise to Willem Mast Drafting and Design LLC. Since then, Willem and his team have provided several 200+ page binders of drawings and specifications supporting Halliburton’s key pieces of equipment.
Today, Willem’s LLC does business by the name of WMD Squared Engineering. Operating out of Lafayette, Louisiana, he and his growing team of engineers provide support to the marine, heavy fabrication, oil & gas, automation and motorsport industries.
What’s more, the firm’s rapid growth hasn’t gone unnoticed. In 2015, WMD Squared was included in the INC 5000 list of fastest-growing companies.
