CHALLENGE: The customer was using a standard method to call out materials on the engineering drawings, but also wanted to continue to meet American Petroleum Institute (API) requirements for manufacturing their tools.
APPROACH: Using an approach that WMD Squared had developed while working in similar situations, the drawings were updated to refer to a document which would be the overall material specifications. WMD Squared was responsible for creating the updated suite of material specifications in accordance with API requirements.
IMPACT: This aided the customer in saving thousands of dollars by avoiding the need to revise a mass of drawings, in both the short and long term, due to anticipated material spec changes by API or customer requests.
