CHALLENGE: Customer had hundreds of tools that they were making in-house using tribal knowledge. The customer needed the ability to assemble the tools in multiple facilities.
APPROACH: To create a set of assembly instructions using the WMD Squared Method. Our method reduces cost to produce use and edit assembly instructions. We increase the efficiency of the workflow used to create the assembly instructions, which reduces the time and resources needed to get the job done.
IMPACT: WMD Squared drastically reduced the customer’s cost for the project, and the template was used across the board. Operators at other facilities were able to easily follow the instructions, which allowed them to build components at other facilities better utilizing their available resources, while minimizing the expected learning curve. This greatly increased the customer’s flexibility in production.
